For Public Review: Draft COCL 2016 Semiannual (Q1 and Q2) Compliance Report

Today, the Compliance Officer/Community Liaison (COCL) team released the draft Semiannual Compliance Assessment Report assessing the Portland Police Bureau’s and the City’s compliance with and implementation of each substantive provision of the City of Portland’s Settlement Agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice.

An update from the City of Portland regarding the Community Oversight Advisory Board

The City of Portland has asked COCL to share below information with you, regarding a community forum next Monday evening, and a Questionnaire to Assess COAB Structure, Duties, Goals. 

60-Day COAB Recess & Cancelation of August Executive Committee Meeting

 The City and DOJ have come to an agreement on a 60-day COAB recess.  During this period, the City will seek community stakeholder input in evaluating the community engagement and oversight provisions of the Settlement Agreement and propose and discuss amendments with the DOJ team with an eye toward strengthening the community engagement process.
